We recommend the fish on Friday. They have all you can eat or you can get the regular portions for a little less. It's plenty. Great flavor, too. Staff is always a friendly bunch and you can tell they get a lot of regulars coming back.

There's something about a neighboring diner. Chrome-Plated is a diner and doesn't want to be anything else. It's open for breakfast and lunch and dinner in Friday nights only. You can find all the usual suspects here, from straight breakfast combos, to mixed scrambles, and omelette a for breakfast. Lunch boasts several sandwiches names after automotive jargon, going with the 50's car theme of the restaurant. And the stand out is their selection of pie, which must be made in house. Nothing has ever struck me as outstanding, requiring me to drag others in to enjoy it, but nothing has ever struck me as terrible either. It's the sort of restaurant that is safe, expected, and appealing in that way that allows you to enjoy it without thinking too much. It's not erudite food, it's blue collar, and it's happy to be so. Could it be better? Sure. Should it? Probably not.

I've been to the CPD many times in the past, but this will be the last. I had the displeasure of actually dealing with the "Owner" on this visit and she basically called me a lair when I told her that in the past the restaurant honored coupons that THEY send out in the super saver magazine. For me it wasn't a big deal when the "Owner" told me that they could honor either one or the other coupons I presented at the check out and when I told the "Owner" that they had done it in the past she basically called me a lair then proceeded to become a real idiot. When I told the "Owner" that was not the way to treat a customer I went off and told the "Owner" that apparently in her diner the customer isn't always right. I dropped it, paid my bill, left a decent tip for our waitress (who by the way was good to us). Funny thing is she treated the people we were with worse than they treated us. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will never spend another thin dime in this place ever again. The food is OK but the "Owner" is a real piece of work. It's funny how one person can change your long help perception of a place with a few short words. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LIKE GIVING YOUR HARD EARNED $$ TO AN "OWNER" WHO HAS NO APPRECIATION TO THOSE FOLKS WHO KEEP HER DOORS OPEN FOR BUSINESS, PS The food isn't worth the aggravation.

Very good breakfast for a VERY reasonable price. Friendly staff. Must go back and try their lunch menu items. The pies on display near the front look fantastic!

Top notch breakfast with good portions and at a great price. The set up and atmosphere is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. Will definitely eat her again and even plan on trying the lunch!

First time here. First impressions: very clean, pretty friendly people. Coffee was..... Coffee. I had a skillet. At first I though the portion size was a little on the small end. But then I realized I didn't have a huge plate of food that I felt like I had to eat and then be in a food coma the rest of the day. Don't get me wrong, I was comfortably full when it was all said and done, and without the food coma. Also, it was delicious. She had eggs Benedict with hollandaise and it was delicious. This place will definitely be in our rotation of breakfast joints in the future.

Located in a strip mall near the campus of IPFW, the outside of Chrome Plated Diner looks unassuming. However, inside the doors you see all red, black, gray, and silver. They have the 50's and 60's diner-style counter and chairs, with records and old product logos on the walls. No neon lights or a jukebox, but hey, there is still plenty of nostalgia here. I am positive they were playing a Little Richard song when I walked into the restaurant, and heard some great 50's and 60's tunes throughout our breakfast. Chrome Plated Diner is a great place for breakfast or lunch. Their menu selections are cheap and plentiful. On the breakfast side, they offer omelets, skillets, a wonderful eggs benedict with sausage gravy (they also offer it with Hollandaise, but I can't resist many things with gravy), and your typical pancakes/waffle selection. I had their hash browns with benedict, and they were tasty and a little crisp (which is how they should be, in my little world). For lunch, they offer hamburgers, sandwiches, and the like, but I didn't try any of those. Prices are very reasonable here. For two breakfasts with coffee, we spent less than $15 and definitely left here full. Their lunch prices appeared to be around the same price. Service was friendly and attentive. They also have some information on the family who owns this place, and the two other diners they own in town as well. It's always nice to know that I am supporting a local business owner. For great prices, good food, and a piece of nostalgia in the Fort, I would definitely recommend this place.

This hole in the wall diner is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is nice, the service was friendly and fast and it has a family run feel to it. My mom ordered a 3 egg omelette with bacon and cheddar cheese. There was a ton of bacon inside and the omelette was huge!! I ordered a build your own breakfast skillet which was very tasty. It was supposed to have sausage gravy but I asked for the sausage gravy in the side. It was very good ( and I'm not a gravy person) and I ended up adding some on top of my skillet. The food arrive very quick and piping hot. They pushed their pumpkin pie shake (tis the season) but he didn't push too hard. There seem to be a lot of regulars there. I thought it was great and will definitely go back next time I'm visiting Fort Wayne. The yelp *free pie offer is expired. The waiter said they have been trying to contact yelp again and again to have it removed but to no avail.

The biscuits and gravy "look" amazing. The biscuits are clearly homemade. Both have good flavor. Unfortunately, like everything here, they came out cold. The bacon is made ahead if time and reheated. The coffee is typical "old people coffee". Oh, and there are flies everywhere. Our server was nice. The place is decorated in 50's style, kind of. If they focus a bit more on quality, this could be a decent breakfast place. However, I will not be returning to this place.

Great little breakfast stop. My family and I were passing through Fort Wayne and wanted something other than a normal chain breakfast. The Chrome provided just that. Although located in a strip mall the interior was definitely different. Service was exceptional and the food was definitely above average but certainly not gourmet. Not something to make a trip for obviously but if you're in the area and want a diner style breakfast that's definitely better than a Waffle House, give it a try.

Breakfast almost as good as it gets. Ham off the bone and thick sliced bacon would make everything perfect. Willing to pay the extra dollar or so. Staff is great. Pancakes could be a little fluffier.

A group of co-workers and I stopped by for lunch. We had been wanting to try it for a while and finally made it in and we will definitely be back. The service was quick, the food was great and the decor is pretty cool. The menu is great. I recommend the Patty Melt (which comes with fries). There was a decent lunch crowd, so I think the diner is starting to find a following. There is a lot of tradition behind the diner (The owners are family of Willie's and Sharon's Diner owners). I do think that they don't need to rely on their history to bring people in, just keep serving good food, fast and hot!!! We'll be back soon!!

Great decor. Great service. Food was really tasty. More people should know about this place!

Food was bland; atmosphere tried, but fell short. Hard to re-create diner feel in a strip mall.
